 What's the Arena Like?

I have tried, as a part of this ongoing arena project, to visit and document every single arena used by a CHL team for the league's entire history. Although some of these rinks are downright isolated, I always figured I could probably get to every one someday, until I recently found out that as part of Hockey Day in Canada in February 2011, the Vancouver Giants beat the Kamloops Blazers 3-2 in a neutral site game held at Takhini Arena. Which is in Whitehorse, Yukon Territory.

If I ever get to Whitehorse, of course I'll check the rink out, but it's likely this page will never consist of anything more than this placeholder. From internet photos, it appears to be a relatively nondescript 1,500 seat building that wouldn't look out of place in any junior A circuit coast to coast. The WHL game held there sold out, and while there are plans to return in preseason in 2025-26, it wouldn't surprise me if it's never used again for a major junior game that counts for anything.

What's the Arena Used for Today?
Whitehorse City Council is considering demolishing Takhini Arena and replacing it as a part of their bid for a future Canada Winter Games. For now, the arena still stands and hosts just about anything a community rink normally would.
